Weekly Update

Feb 6

Hi folks,

Sorry this arrives so late this week!

Congratulations to Christopher Arnold who beat his big brother in the hockey pool (unbelievably Chris was first and Patrick – as Schwarzenegger - was third!) to win the Feb. 1 prize of $50! Note that Chris was a whopping 36 points ahead as of Feb. 1!!

 Reminders:

Tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 7 – practice, 5:30-6:20pm, Ice Sports

Thursday, Feb. 8 – LATE practice, 9-9:50pm, GA-B

Saturday, Feb. 10 – road game vs Guelph, WERC 2, 8:30pm

Sunday, Feb. 11 – practice, 6:30-7:30pm, GA-G

I expect our practice schedule for the next couple of weeks will be in our mail box any minute now so will send you all an update as soon as it lands.

 Standings:

Guelph is 2 and 1, having beaten Hespeler twice and lost once to us, so we’ll want to win Saturday night to clinch our pool. If Guelph wins, we play Guelph AGAIN in a tiebreaker (date not yet set). In the other pool, Milton (AA) and Burlington play tonight. If Burlington wins, they clinch. If Milton wins there are all kinds of possibilities for ties and tiebreakers. You can keep track here: http://www.minorhockey.net/playdowns/index.asp?id=55

 Tape sales:

If your soon-to-be Grade 8 grad is thinking ahead to career options, it’s safe to say sales is a good bet for some! By all accounts, Jack, Eric and Cameron have a bright future! Thanks to them and to Brett, Justin and Blair for doing their tape-sales duty last weekend. We have one more round to go, with Cole, Brody and Ryan at Maplegrove late Saturday afternoon for the Atom Red division. This Saturday doesn’t work because of our road game so we’ll watch the schedule and set up when we don’t have a game or practice. Thanks to Nancy and Earlene for supervising!!

Also, please have the money from your individual tape sales to Nancy or Mike by the end of this month. Thanks!!

 Schedule:

As mentioned, I expect the practice schedule will arrive any minute but the game schedule is up in the air until the qualifiers are decided. If we advance, we play a three-game series against the winner of the other side. If not, it’s back to the tri-county playoffs.

 That’s all. Thanks!

 -Laura.
